Configuring GL Codes for Reporting
The GL Reporting tab in Connected Apps is where you tell SmartProperty how to interpret each GL code that syncs from your accounting platform. Three settings live here: the Reporting Group, the Reserve designation, and the debit/credit orientation.
Opening GL Reporting¶
Open your property, select Connected Apps, then the GL Reporting tab. Each row is one GL code from your platform, with its code, description, and GL type. Use the search box or column filters to find specific codes.
Assigning a Reporting Group¶
Reporting Groups organize your GL activity into the groupings used across SmartProperty reports.
- One at a time: use the Reporting Group dropdown on the row. Your selection saves as soon as you choose it.
- In bulk: select Bulk Assign Reporting Groups, check the GL codes you want, and choose the group to apply to all of them.
The Reserve Column (CINC)¶
For CINC integrations, each GL code shows a Reserve designation (Yes or No) that comes from CINC. You can filter the list by this column to review which codes are treated as reserve activity.
For Vantaca integrations, reserve classification works through funds instead. See "Classifying reserve accounts and funds."
Reversing Debit and Credit Values¶
Some platforms record certain GL activity with the opposite sign from how you want it reported. The Reverse Debit / Credit values toggle on each row swaps the debit and credit amounts for every transaction under that GL code.
Use this when a code's activity consistently appears backwards in your reports (for example, income showing as a negative expense). The toggle applies to the GL code as a whole, not to individual transactions.
