What changed on September 18, 2026

A bank connection that stops working now says so, instead of reporting success while your balances quietly go months out of date. The Component Inventory report can also include a Replacement % column, so phased components add up on the page.

When a bank connection breaks, your accounts now say so

A bank connection that failed at the bank used to keep reporting a healthy status. Refresh returned a success message every time, no error ever appeared, and balances could sit months out of date with nothing on screen to show there was a problem.

Account pages now show what actually happened on the last sync.

  • An account whose connection needs attention is flagged on both the account list and the account detail page
  • Refresh reports the real result, and tells you why it did not run again if you retry too soon
  • Where your bank supports it, you can reconnect from the account page

What you need to do: Check any account flagged as needing attention. Reconnecting in place depends on the bank and works for only some failures. For the rest, the account points you to SmartProperty support, and reconnecting may mean removing the account and linking it again.

Replacement % on the Component Inventory report

When a component is replaced in phases, its cost line is a percentage of the full replacement cost. The report did not show that percentage, so the arithmetic on the page did not look like it added up.

Replacement % is now available under "Columns to include in the report," positioned between Quantity and Current Replacement Cost. It appears on screen and in the PDF.

  • Components replaced in full show 100 percent
  • Phased components show the percentage applied for that year

What you need to do: Select Replacement % in report settings when you want it included.

Completing a project updates your planning year

If your property has a planning year set up, completing a project now updates the component in both the current year and the planning year. Before, only the current year was updated and the planning year had to be corrected by hand.

  • Cost carries forward with next year's inflation applied, and remaining useful life is reduced by one year
  • If no planning year is set up, nothing changes
  • This applies to projects completed from this release forward

Required fields are marked when you add a component

On the Add Component form, required fields now carry a visible indicator. If you try to save with one empty, the form tells you which field is missing instead of leaving Save unavailable with no explanation. Useful Life, Remaining Useful Life, and Quantity also reject entries that are not numbers.

This covers the Add Component form. The same treatment is coming to the other forms that behave this way.

Fixes

  • Saves apply on the first try. Changing which funding plan a property uses, or editing a component's fiscal year, did not take effect until you saved a second time or reloaded the page, and an export could still show the old value. Every screen, report, and export now reads what you saved.
  • The Financial Health Report reloads when you change the funding plan. Choosing a different plan in Edit Report Settings and clicking Update Health Report closed the panel but left the report showing the plan it opened with. The PDF was already correct. The report on screen updates now too.
  • Buttons no longer get cut off on smaller screens. On a laptop-sized window the Advance to Planning window grew past the bottom of the browser, and its buttons could not be reached or scrolled to, which blocked advancing a property to the next budget year. Windows now scroll their contents while the buttons stay in view. The same fix was applied across the rest of the app.
  • Currency fields accept cents. Money fields ignored the decimal point, so an amount like 1,234.56 could not be entered. Add Balance and Add Interest on Accounts, and New Cost in the Project Completion and Component Close Out wizards, all take dollars and cents now.
  • The Project Timeline PDF matches the screen. The exported timeline placed bars and milestones away from the tasks they belonged to, left some labels floating, dropped long bars, and produced a different date range each time the same project was exported. It matches the Timeline tab now.
